The project addresses the restoration and renewal of the national cultural heritage of particular importance- St. Elizabeth Cathedral in Košice, specifically its part: Tower of King Matthias
The aim of the proposed „Matthias“ tower interior renewal , is foremost the conservation and restoration of its art-historical, architectural and artistic values, redeveloping its physical existence and rehabilitation of its preserved  original expressive qualities, considering the further use of the building for liturgical and sacramental use. The basic principle of restoration will be the renewal of a part of this monument -the interior of the south King Matthias Tower  into the most authentic medieval version,  accepting previous interventions from the end of the 19th century. The aim is to ensure the tower interior resroration in order that it will be possible to maintain all of its values as a cultural heritage, with respect to its possible use for the needs of the archdiocese, with the opportunity to present these areas or their parts to the public. Spaces will undergo a deeper examination clarifying historical data on the use of the area of the tower as well as the origin and use of the "maze" consisting of a number of spindle staircases.

Along with the interior renovation, rehabilitation and restoration of selected movables elements, situated in the aisles of the church, will be done. This involves the Altar of the Three Kings in the northern aisle, in the northeast  the Altar of St. Stephen  and the Altar of  St. Joseph, representing  the younger decorations of the church from 1896.From the same period comes the Altar of Mettercia, from south chapel consecrated to Mettercia. After the recent big stages of complex restoration of immovable parts of the church interior, renovation of the altars as part of the furnishings of the church would provide their presentation to the public expected for the area.
